Moorpark College Head Football Coach
Starting his 15th year in collegiate coaching, after graduating from a D1 football scholarship, Mike Stuart has spent the better part of two decades rallying behind student athletes. As one of the first coaches in his league to implement an Academic Game plan, one that instills time managment tools, study skills, and professional work ethic development, he has been passionate about helping his players succeed on and off the field since day 1. The Athletes Academy is his way of helping to ensure academic and athletic confidence in the next generation of student athletes! He uses his incredible background in physical training, agility drills, strength and conditioning workouts to craft a field ready game plan for active learners to fully engage in academics with an eager confidence.
Kelsey Stuart
M.A. in English, Moorpark Reporter Advisor, D.E. Coordinator
With over 200 published news stories, Kelsey spent her early career as a local journalist in the Fresno and Ventura County area. Always happily involved with Moorpark Athletics, she launched the MC Spirit program, as well as the CLU Cheer Program, and coached college cheer for five years. During that time she collaborated with the football team to lead growth mindset workshops on instilling academic confidence in athletes, was an academic trainer for young athletes at Oaks Christian High School and a tutor at the Writing Center at Moorpark College. She eventually began instructing in journalism and now is lead Journalism instructor at Moorpark College, facilitates the student newspaper, the Moorpark Reporter, and serves as the Distance Education Coordinator for the campus. Her uniquely designed Journalism courses have been recognized at the state level and badged for high marks of equity and accessibility. Kelsey has pooled her background as a tutor, collegiate instructor, and a mother of four young athletes to design a curriculum that offers engaging lessons, interactive assessments, and guaranteed retention.
Clarissa Schuyler

Overjoyed to have a chance to inspire the Academy's Young Athletes, Clarissa Schulyer, director of Little Steps Preschool, applies her over 20 years experience in teaching 2nd-3rd grades to our up and coming stars!
A 2-time National High Jump Champion, and a 4 Time All American, she knows establishing a passion for learning is essential to helping these Young Athletes carry through into their middle and high school years!

Carly Doderlein

With a huge heart for kids, Carly Doderlein has spent the last decade working with youth across Ventura County. As a substitute teacher for CVUSD she has spent ample time in the classroom and looks forward to finding a home with our Young Athletes.
Coming from a big family of three sisters and two brothers, Doderlein seeks out communities that prioritize families. With a Masters in Psychology, Doderlein is an advocate for students, offering all she can to give them the support they need to succeed.
Cori Ohl

Oaks Christian High School English Teacher
Cori Ohl is well-known for her expertise in English Grammar, as a beloved instructor for years at Oaks Christian High School, the mother of seven, has refined the art of splicing sentences, encouraging students to write confidently and read voraciously. A mother to exceptional children, one of which plays professional baseball, she is very familiar with an athletes schedule and need to prioritize time wisely in order to achieve exceptional results! She looks forward to working with her student athletes this year in both elementary, middle and high school grades at Elite Athletes Academy.

John Stuart, an Defensive Coordinator for Moorpark College Football Program, began his journey as a passionate college athlete. His love for football, kindled in his early years, has fueled his dynamic path in the world of athletics, where he combines his deep passion for the sport with a dedicated commitment to nurturing the next generation of players.
Stuart's teaching and coaching philosophy centers on empowerment and collaboration. He prioritizes fostering student opportunities by involving student athletes in leadership roles, granting them a voice in shaping the team and classroom strategies. This approach not only enhances their engagement but also instills a sense of ownership and commitment, creating a vibrant and cohesive team dynamic.
Leading the Academy’s Athletic Skills and Sport Training, Stuart will be unparalleled in garnering confidence in the arena each morning. Using his academic background in enhanced strategies and formulas, as well as his over five years in teaching throughout Conejo Valley high school’s and middle school’s as a substitute teacher, Stuart will be partnering with Shireen Russell to launch the exceptional math program at the Academy.
